Review

I’ve been into thrillers a lot recently, so when I saw the trailer for Bird Box, and seen that Sandra Bullock was the main character, I knew immediately that I needed to watch this one. This movie is by far the best movie I have seen this year, thriller wise. I am so glad that I took the time to see it because I am in complete awe.

po2j5bt4sg72Bird Box has one of the most unique plots I have ever heard of. An outbreak has spread across the world, making everyone that looks outside break down, and resort to committing suicide. It’s intense, it’s dark and it’s thrilling to the very end. I was at the edge of my seat the entire time, and I was crossing my fingers that my favourite characters survived.

DSC04279.CR2The creators of this film does not hold back. No one is safe as the more the movie goes on, the more people die. As soon as you think you know what is going on, a twist in the plot arrives and you are left breathless and sad over the loss of so many.

birdboxthumb-1542149318374All the actors did such an amazing job in bringing the thrill to the screen. Sandra Bullock is so amazing, she continues to surprise me with each movie she stars in. She has proven that she is capable of playing any roll that is giving to her. She is the actress of all trades. Sandra Bullock is one of my favourite actresses of all time, and this movie just adds to the list of the reasons why I love her.

1540458771_sandrasocialI am giving this movie 5 stars, simply because it was incredible. I encourage everyone that is looking for a good thrill to add this one to your list because you will not be disappointed. I know for a fact that I will be watching this one again very soon, it was that amazing. I am also going to recommend it to all my friends and family. Everyone should know about Bird Box. It deserves recognition for the amazing job that everyone involved in this movie performed.

Cinema Sunday #20|Insidious: The Last Key (2018) Movie Review

jqpmpmjlmjurde2irls2Insidious: The Last Key
Released: January 5th 2018
Length of Film: 1h 43 min
Genres: Horror, Mystery, Thriller
Rating: 4 Stars

Synopsis

Brilliant parapsychologist Elise Rainier receives a disturbing phone call from a man who claims that his house is haunted. Even more disturbing is the address — 413 Apple Tree Lane in Five Keys, N.M. — the home where Elise grew up as a child. Accompanied by her two investigative partners, Rainier¬†travels to Five Keys to confront and destroy her greatest fear — the demon that she accidentally set free years earlier.

Review

This is my second time watching this movie because I wanted it really fresh in my mind for this review. The Insidious movies quickly became one of the most loved horror franchise in the world. With only four released, anyone with an obsession for horror movies will have definitely seen them. I’ve seen them all and I love each and everyone of them.

insidious-the-last-key-2018-2Elise is my favourite character. I love her personality so much and I love the fact that this movie focused on her childhood and that us viewers got a chance to understand her past and the events that shaped her to be the woman she is today. We got to meet her extended family and we learned so much about her parents and her brother, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Film Title: Insidious: The Last KeyI love the mystery that follows this film. While ghosts are of course the main source of fear, the fourth instalment of the Insidious series also ventures into the realm of kidnapping and murder. This film is definitely more intense than the others, and I am so happy to see that this movie is just as strong, if not stronger than the others.

1000px-autopx-scale-to-width-downI was at the edge of my seat the entire time, and during both times of watching this movie, I found myself jumping out of my seat numerous times. It’s so easy to get rapped up into this story that when something on screen makes me me jump? I also scream my head off.

insidious-furtherI’m giving this movie 4 stars for the amazing plot and for just the right amount of horror. I love being able to watch these movies alone because yes they are scary, but they aren’t scary enough to have nightmares. I recommend the Insidious movies to people that are just getting into horror and for the people that love a good scare.

On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.

Review

This is my third time watching this movie and I am still left completely breathless once the last scene is played. So much happens in this latest Avengers film and I can easily say that this movie is my favourite Marvel film yet.

avengers-infinity-war-1-ap-thg-180424_hpMain_12x5_992The intensity throughout brought me at the edge of my seat and every single scene had me freaking out, either from the hilarious banter, the intense fight scenes or the death of some of my favourite characters. There is so much death and destruction in this movie, so many of my friends, myself included found ourselves crying over the sadness and shock that was brought to the screen.

avengers-infinity-war1I love how every single character in the marvel universe was added to this film, they all got to meet one another and gang up together for one epic battle and horrendous ending that had all fans shocked and upset over the loss of characters that we have been with from the very beginning. I just pray that they are able to come back and that it wasn’t truly the end of their lives. I don’t think I can handle so much loss from so many wonderful characters played by even greater actors.

gn-gift_guide_variable_cThere is only so much that I can say without giving spoilers but I strongly suggest you watch this movie with loved ones because I can guarantee that you won’t know what to do with yourself afterwards.

avengers-infinity-war-post-credits1I’m giving this movie 5 stars obviously. This movie made the Marvel universe one million times better. Things we thought that the creators would never do? Oh they did them. The shock value is what made this movie so amazing. I recommend this to anyone that loves Marvel like myself. I don’t recommend you watch this movie if you haven’t seen all the prior movies because you will definitely be confused. But to those you love Marvel and haven’t seen this yet? You need to, like yesterday.

Review

The credits are still rolling as I’m writing this review and the only word that comes to my mind in this moment is WOW. What an amazing movie. I don’t understand why the reviews have been so low because I absolutely loved it.

flatlinersWith just the right amount of drama and horror this movie is about a group of students learning at a hospital to become doctors, become addicted to flatlining themselves as they believe it gives them an edge to becoming the next best doctor. But what they didn’t plan on, was having haunting hallucinations after they experimented with flatlining.

4Hs4PduN20Oq5qwljRgMHAThe actors were amazing. I love how the group stuck together during the entire movie, making sure that they were there for one another after they died and came back to life. They portrayed their characters perfectly, I honestly almost believed that this was actually happening

FL-DLuna02The plot was so original, I’ve never watched anything like this. And the intensity!! I was at the edge of my seat for the entire movie, waiting for what was to come. I also loved how there was just a touch of horror, making the movie more intense but not too scary that I was able to watch it alone.

flat-lineI highly recommend anyone who hasn’t watched it to give it a chance. I truly think that if your into drama, mystery and a touch of horror this one is for you. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this film because it is most likely going to make my Top Ten list of the year.

Cinema Sunday #17|Jem and the Holograms (2015) Movie Review

jem-and-the-holograms-movie-posterJem and the Holograms
Released: October 23rd 2015
Length of Film: 1h 58 min
Genres: Drama, Adventure, Family
Rating: 4 Stars

Synopsis

Teenager Jerrica (Aubrey Peeples) is an extremely shy but talented singer-songwriter whose dreams of stardom come true when she forms the group Jem and the Holograms. Other members include her younger sister Kimber (Stefanie Scott) on keyboards, drummer Shana (Aurora Perrineau) and bassist Aja (Hayley Kiyoko). With help from Rio (Ryan Guzman), the son of the CEO (Juliette Lewis) of Starlight Music, the four young band members find their own voice while taking the world by storm.

Review

This movie was an amazing coming of age story about four girls learning what it means to be a family and learning what it means to be in the music industry. I loved the storyline. It was more than just girls becoming famous. It was about these four good hearted girls wanting to make a difference, by showing the world that it’s okay to be yourself.

Jerrica Guitar croppedI loved the actors. Each one played such an important roll and they all acted perfectly. Each character was so believable. I felt every single emotion that was being portrayed and I was cheering our main characters on the entire time. I wanted them to succeed so bad because the actors made them feel so real and likeable.

hero_Jem-and-the-Holograms-2015The music shown throughout this movie was so incredible. I loved the performances and how catchy the lyrics were. It was the type of music I would listen to in my day to day life.

Jem-And-Holograms-Movie-Trailer-2Our main characters Jerrica and Kimber lost their father when they were very young . They found themselves on a scavenger hunt that their dad created right before he passed. It was so heartwarming to see them grow closer to their father by following the advice he gives throughout the hunt.

051315-jem-and-the-holograms-trailerThis movie had everything. Family, fame, loss, romance, and friendship. It is an amazing story that I would encourage every young adolescent to watch. This is my second time watching the film and I still enjoyed it as much as the first time. I wish this movie was more popular because even though it’s only a couple years old, I don’t think that many people gave it a true chance.

Review

I was so excited to see this movie when I saw that Kat Graham was playing the main character. She is an amazing actress and I knew that she wouldn’t disappoint. ‚̧

824aab489dafccd06ff389b37c12e980243f0266Being a photographer, Abby is struggling to find her place in the world. She wants to be successful while staying true to herself by photographing what inspires her the most. She has a best friend named Josh, who is already known in the photography world and she hopes and prays that she is doing the right thing by following her dreams.

b451e31f-2cbf-43aa-853d-ab7e39dd49db-theholidaycalendar_unit_01591Throughout this movie I got to see Abby grow as a person, as she begins to figure what she wants for herself. And having a magic advent calendar that tells the future in her life, adds a magical vibe that makes the whole movie come together.

The-Holiday-Calendar-Kat-Graham-and-Ethan-PeckI thought the creativity shown throughout this movie was phenomenal. The ups and downs made Abby’s life even more real, as she continues fighting for what she wants.

And wether that happens or not, the romance from the beginning to the end just seemed a little too forced.

christmas-movies-on-netflix-1540313302Overall, I think this Christmas movie was really good and I encourage you all to go watch it. Kat Graham is amazing in this movie and you will not be disappointed with her performance, as well as the performance of the other actors. I will definitely be adding this movie to my annual Christmas movie list.

Cinema Sunday #15|Bring It On: Worldwide #Cheersmack (2017) Movie Review

268x0wBring It On: Worldwide #Cheersmack
Released: August 29th 2017
Length of Film: 1h 35 min
Genres: Drama, Sport
Rating: 2 Stars

Synopsis

Vivica A. Fox makes her Bring It On debut as Cheer Goddess, the Internet’s most popular “Cheer-lebrity.” When Destiny (Prosperi), captain of three-time national champions “The Rebels,” is challenged to a global cheer showdown by an edgy new team called “The Truth,” the Cheer Goddess organizes a virtual battle for squads from all around the world. It seems like the whole world wants to take down Destiny and her team, and they just might succeed, unless Destiny can rise to the challenge, set her ego aside and figure out who her real friends are.

Review

I was so excited when I heard they were coming out with a sixth Bring It On movie. I grew up with these films and I still love a good cheer movie. I love the competition and the drama and the blooming romances and getting to see the teams practice with all they’ve got to get to the championships. Unfortunately, this movie really disappointed me.

nbcu-88647-Full-Image_GalleryBackground-en-US-1503093217622._RI_SX940_This movie is by far the worst in the entire series. And I am so upset writing this review because I really wanted to love it. It wasn’t completely horrible, hence the 2 stars, but I really didn’t think it measured up to it’s previous works what so ever.

maxresdefaultThe relationships felt forced, the cheering wasn’t very good compared to previous films. I felt like they had the chance to make an amazing sequel and they completely fell flat. The competition felt over the top and honestly just to much and to fake. The truth? As the opposite team called themselves? Give me a break, that was the stupidest thing they could have come up with.

15693_1The only part of this film that I liked was the character growth of the main character. She realized that it wasn’t just herself on the team and that she needed to take other peoples opinions into consideration. I also really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between our main character Destiny and Blake. That was the only relationship that worked for me, and it felt natural.

Bring It On 6I hope that if they do decide to come out with another Bring It On, they need to bring their A-game. They have made incredible movies before, they can do it again. But this movie was completely lacking in all departments. I’d skip this one to be honest. Focus on the previous 5 Bring It On movies, because they are actually good in my opinion.
